Well, tomorrow is the last day of the school year here in Kodiak. I am so excited about that for myself as much as for Andrew. We have seen lots of moving trucks around the neighborhood, and long for our turn to come.
Right now the big thing on the calendar is Andrew's 10th Birthday. Can't believe he is growing up so fast. He is planning on a Swim and Pizza party with some friends to spend the night afterward! I know he is excited to have a real party this year. Usually he misses out because of a trip home or moving!
Looking forward to working at the scrapbooking store this year. It will certainly be a nice change of pace from what I have been doing. I really can't stand recess duty while I am freezing half to death.
It is May 24th and it is 48 degrees here! I am so ready to be in Florida hanging out by the pool feeling the nice warm SUN on my arms and legs...

Bowling
Last night was totally awesome! I broke TWO high score records in one night at League!
My previous high score was 152, and I broke that one with my first of three games with a 154. Then had a low score game of 111 (but still hit my average) and then the last game was TIED with CATHY with a new high score of 161! Man, this can become addictive!
I do like having an outlet to keep my mind of the dreary weather here in the never-ending winters! I cannot wait to move from here. I have not ever wanted to write anything negative on "our" blog, but it is too hard to stay true to myself without true expression - which I am not good at these days! Maybe I haven't been for a LONG time.
I do really long for the days when I can go to the grocery store and they DO HAVE milk and chicken! I mean, really - this is like living everyday in the middle of a hurricane! Gas prices, the cost and availability of milk - and DON'T EVEN get me started on the lack of fresh bread and fruits and veggies - is really wearing on my good nature! I hate it here. I know that we have a great life and don't really have much to complain about, but really, you cannot help how you feel! You know?
I LONG FOR FLORIDA SUN! Traffic, Convenient Stores, malls, Target, Michaels, Drug stores, Firehouse subs, Mugs n' Juggs, the BEACH, The Bayside Bridge, the Eastern Standard Time Zone... and so much more! 541 more days left here... and that is how all three of us feels...
So, Bowling and Scrapping keep my mind in the happy places BEFORE and AFTER here... :)

Blogging
I'll tell you, I can spend hours trying to find just the right background and header for our blog! But I don't keep it updated as I would like. You know, it is funny how life goes on, and I cannot think of anything to blog about. I mean, it is like writing in an open diary. Days seem to be uneventful, and nothing happens that is noteworthy!
We all have been very busy these days being creative with our own things. I spend hours scrapbooking, and I am now working on our wedding album after 11 years of marriage! I am so glad that I waited until I was ready to do this, though, because I wouldn't have done it as nicely as I can now! :) I have recently been added to the design team here at the Kodiak Craft Garden! I am so proud! I am having a great time and "making myself" do the things I like to do while I have the time to do it!
Phillip has been playing his guitar about every day. He loves his new processor - and so do all his friends he has found to play with! He, Bill and Paul like to hang out and play all sorts of songs. It is good to see him playing again.
Andrew is doing his thing - hanging out with his friends playing Poke'mon (which Phillip and I don't understand or like very much). But it makes him happy as a lark, and that is really all that matters right now. He goes to his friend's house about every day and plays at his fort where he says he has developed a "Poke'mon Fan Club". He says they meet every day after school. So neat!
We plan to sign him up for an up-coming art class starting Jan. 25th. I hope it is great. He LOVES art!

Kodiak Christmas Parade
"Only in Kodiak" does the Christmas Parade come to your door! Andrew and I were on our way to pick up Phillip from the boat when Andrew rushed into my room and exclaimed, "Mom, I think we have a MAJOR problem! The road is blocked where we have to turn to go to the boat to pick up Dad!" I looked out the window, and said, "Oh, Andrew! It's a parade!" And we rushed out to take a few photos and pick up the candy. Andrew did not even have time to put on his coat!

What Happened to Summer?
I cannot believe it is December 8th already! I saw a Christmas countdown that says it is 16 days until Christmas! WOW! I have never been very good at thinking ahead about Holidays... I hope I can change a lot about myself in the coming year.
I have made all the Christmas cards... and if you know me... you know the mailing part is the real challenge. I don't understand it either.
Well, I do have some shopping done, but am looking forward to baking some cookies and... decorating the tree? It is up... with nothing but lights. Phillip is gone this week to spread some cheer to the villages. Maybe he will bring some Christmas elves back with him to help us decorate.
I have to finish up my filing class at college, and that is taking up valuable time. I didn't think it would be this difficult, but it is really kicking my behind.
Loving the mindless games on facebook these days, but not doing too well with the keeping in touch with friends and family. My mind is overwhelmed with dreams...
